Front-of-Package Labeling Comment Period Extension

Today, the FDA published a Federal Register notice to extend the comment period for the proposed rule on a front-of-package (FOP) nutrition labeling scheme until July 15, 2025. We are taking this action in response to requests to extend the comment period to allow interested parties additional time to submit comments.  

We considered the requests and are extending the comment period for the proposed rule for 60 days (July 15, 2025). A 60-day comment period extension allows adequate time for interested parties to submit comments while also not significantly delaying rulemaking on the important issues in the proposed rule.
